Increasingly, businesses and other partners are stepping up to help schools. Some have “adopted” an entire school or classroom, providing generous financial support and human resources on an ongoing basis. Others have donated school supplies or completed one-time community service projects at the school. What is significant about the contributions of these businesses is their emphasis on helping students learn. The stakes are high. These students are their future work force.
Generally defined, a School-Business Partnership at Exchange is a mutual agreement between a business and a school to in which a business provides a financial contribution to help a school attend one or both of our programs—Exchange City or EarthWorks.
As a not-for-profit organization, we rely heavily on the earned income from our two programs:
- Exchange City costs $20.00 per student
- EarthWorks costs $20.00 per student
Unfortunately, while many schools value the benefits of our incredible learning experiences, they are not always able to afford to attend and require financial assistance.
A partnership between a school and to a business can prove beneficial to both partners if the right components are in place. Partnerships offer business leaders and their employees an opportunity to contribute to their community as well as an inside look at today’s schools, which in turn increases their knowledge, understanding and advocacy for public education.
