EarthWorks brings environmental science to life for students through exploration of the life cycles of 5 natural habitats. The curriculum is designed to teach crucial math and science content and processes including hypothesizing, making observations, collecting data and drawing conclusions.
Your EarthWorks package includes:
- An on-line teacher’s curriculum guide* complete with nine communication arts, math and science infused preparatory units on habitats, food chains and environmental cycles; with a follow up unit applying science concepts through hands-on team activities, student reflection and interdisciplinary projects.
- Curriculum is in Adobe PDF format and requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print.
- A one day authentic, on-site student simulation
- Student materials including: EarthWorks student log books for each student to complete lesson activities and personal reflections
- Staff members who are certified teachers with classroom experience to facilitate the on-site simulation
- Three hour teacher training and professional development to ensure and assist teachers in understanding and implementing EarthWorks curriculum
- Two-hour orientation session for volunteers who assist students in the on-site experience
