June 9-13, 2008
***Recommended age of camper: 9-13 years old
$180 per camper for 9:00a.m.-3:00p.m.
$270 per camper for 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m.
CityWorks Camp will be offered at Exchange City for older elementary and middle school children, ages 9-13, in grades 4th through 8th.
Exchange City is looking for creative, energetic and motivated kids who want to experience what it is like to become business entrepreneurs charged with the real-life task of running their own city. Working collaboratively with other businesses, children build a thriving business district and city community. To summarize their learning, these young entrepreneurs showcase their businesses to other citizens and parents at an end-of-camp Business Showcase.
Citizens will:
- Increase knowledge of personal finance through writing checks, making deposits and tracking expenses
- Work as a team to develop a business plan and budget that will help manage and market businesses
- Create, produce, price and sell all products and services
- Work collaboratively to build a thriving business district and community
